Alex will be a Counselor-Coach working with our soccer program this summer!
Alex grew up in Massapequa, New York on Long Island. She just graduated from Ithaca College in upstate New York with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition Health Promotion. In her four years as a defender for the Ithaca Bombers Women’s soccer team, the Bombers made four NCAA appearances, including trips to the elite eight and final four.
Growing up, Alex was surrounded by the world of soccer. She played at a primer level and traveled up and down the East Coast for games and tournaments. Alex has also been a referee since she was 15 years old. If she wasn’t playing on the field herself you could surely find her running up and down officiating a match. From the ages of 13 to 16, Alex attended the JCC Maccabi Games where she won a gold medal for her JCC. As part of her high school varsity team, she lettered three times.
In college, Alex was able to travel with her team to Costa Rica and Argentina. In both countries they played local teams and were immersed in new cultures and soccer lifestyles. Separate from her team travels, Alex studied abroad in Australia and from there visited New Zealand. In the summer of 2013 she traveled to Israel.
Alex would rather be outside, being active, than indoors. She lives a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy (often cooking up new, tasty dishes), resistance training, and running. She hopes to educate children on the importance of including all of these in activities in their lives. Alex plans on going to graduate school for exercise physiology or public health.
