Gavrielle Sonntag was born and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from International High School this spring where she played four years of varsity volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She helped her basketball team made it to the state semifinals two years in a row, and her volleyball team to the farthest round of playoffs in school history. During the summers, Gavi went to Camp Tawonga and learned more about her Jewish identity in that community. Additionally, she was bat mitzvah at Temple Emanuel, and continued in their fellowship program through senior year. This is Gavi’s first summer at JCC Maccabi Camp, and she will be coaching basketball and volleyball in addition to being a counselor.
