Staff Spotlight: Nancy Geenen

Nancy will be our Head Coach for Softball this summer

Nancy Geenen is excited to join us as the Head Coach in our inaugural Girls’ Softball program during Session III at Camp this summer. She has a deep and long history as a coach and teacher. Nancy is in her third year as a Softball Coach at Mountain View High School. Before starting at Mountain View, Nancy worked as an assistant coach for the MVLA-Nova 16U and 18U Softball teams. She is a certified ASA/USA level three softball coach.

An experienced athlete, Nancy was a high school All-American in basketball and tennis. At 18, she was ranked No. 2 in singles and No. 1 in doubles in the state of Wisconsin. Upon attending Stanford University, Nancy switched to team sports. She was a founding member of the Stanford Varsity Women’s Soccer Team and played both Basketball and Field Hockey as a three-sport varsity athlete. Throughout high school and college, Nancy played AAU fast-pitch softball and played softball in the first Gay Olympic Games held in San Francisco.

Nancy has a life-time California Teaching Credential for K – 12 in English and Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Education from Stanford. From 1982 to 1985, she taught English and PE at Moreau High School in Hayward, California while coached the girls’ and boys’ tennis teams to league champions. Nancy attended law school at University of Santa Clara.
