After spending every summer for the last 10 years at a camp, our Program Director Brent may know a thing or two about what to pack. Here’s his Top 5 items you may easily forget when packing for camp. Brent guarantees all items will come in handy at some point during the summer!
1. White T-Shirt
You most certainly don’t want to forget to pack a white T-shirt. Each session, campers will have the chance to tie-dye a garment of clothing. Don’t worry moms & dads! We’ll wash it for you here at camp so you don’t have to deal with the mess at home. You’re welcome!
2. Reusable Water Bottle
Campers will be be running around and playing sports all day. There is no doubt they will need to stay hydrated. We have water and Gatorade coolers all over camp. So, be sure to pack that reusable water bottle to stay hydrated (and save the planet while you’re at it)!
3. Disposable Camera
Yes, they do still exist! While JCC Maccabi Sports Camp has a strict no electronics policy, campers may bring a digital camera and/or a disposable camera with them to capture the precious moments at camp. Pick one up at your local pharmacy.
4. Maccabi Cup Swag
Get ready, get set! During Maccabi Cup (our camp color war), the entire camp will be split into two teams- BLUE and GREEN. Be sure to pack some blue and green bandanas, stickers, hats and/or t-shirts if you can. That way, when the day comes, everyone will be fully prepared to show some team spirit.
5. Rest Hour Toolkit
Each day, campers have some time to rest up and unwind. While some campers like to nap, others prefer to participate in quiet activities. Be sure to pack a good book, a deck of playing cards, Mad Libs, a coloring book, or any other non-electronic items that may be of interest.
