Rookie Camp &
scrimmage session
During the first week+ of our 3-week session, we offer Rookie Camp for campers entering grades 3–6. This unique program gives first-time campers a chance to spend a significant time at camp to get a taste of the sports and community that makes our program unique.
During the first 4 days of our 2-week session, we offer a Scrimmage Session for campers entering 2nd grade. This shorter “preseason” version of camp allows our youngest campers to see all that camp has to offer before diving in to a longer session in future summers. These campers will all participate in our multi-sport offering.

We aim to make camp affordable for everyone
We know that camp is an investment in your child’s Jewish future and we want to do all we can to make it more manageable for families. We offer interest-free payment plans for families to help spread the cost over multiple months. These payment plans run from November to April with payments coming around the 20th of each month. If you register later your payments will still be scheduled to end in April, for example if you register in January you’ll have payments taken in January, February, March, and April.
For first time campers in Sessions 1 or 2 you may be eligible for the One Happy Camper grant of up to $1000 ($1500 for Orange County residents) and if you are a first time camper with an Israeli parent you may be eligible for the Israeli American Camper grant. Camp also provides generous scholarships so please reach out to me for more information on our scholarship process. Money should never be the reason someone cannot attend camp.
In addition to these grants and scholarships we offer the following discounts for camp;
Sibling Discount – New this year the sibling discount will be 5% off of camp tuition for each sibling registered. So if you have 3 children, each of them would receive the 5% discount.
Jewish Professionals Discount – If you work for a Jewish organization you are eligible for 10% off tuition to camp. Simply reach out to Joel and he will add this discount to your account.
Referral Bonus – There is no greater recruitment tool than word of mouth from satisfied families. You are our best salespeople when it comes to the magic of camp. This year we have a new referral structure to incentivize families and encourage enrollment in key areas of camp.
If you refer a camper who will live in our male identifying cabins to Session 1 or 2 you will receive a $500 bonus, if they live in our female identifying cabins you will receive $750. For rookie camp or scrimmage session the referrals amounts are $250 or $500. The best thing about these bonuses, they are stackable and can be combined up to the full amount of your camper’s 2026 tuition! The more campers you refer who enroll the more you will save off of camp.
We are deeply committed to increasing the enrollment of female identifying campers at Maccabi and we hope this small incentive will help make that a reality.
Host A Parlor Meeting – We are happy to come and present camp to a group of your friends in your home. These smaller gatherings are a great way for parents and prospective campers to hear directly from me and ask questions in a comfortable environment. If you host a parlor meeting you will receive $500 off of camp as well as the referral bonus for any participants who register. You just need to pick a date, invite your friends, and camp will take care of the rest.
Work At Camp – If you are a Nurse, Doctor, or work in children’s mental health (counselor, social worker, etc.) and are interested in joining us for any portion of the summer, we’d love to have you in exchange for a discount on your camper’s tuition. Reach out to Joel to discuss the details if this is something you are interested in.
Maccabi Sports Camp Scholarship Fund is made possible in part by a generous grant from the Overnight Camp Scholarship Fund at the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund.
Local Jewish Organizations
If you are from outside the San Francisco Bay Area, your local Jewish Federation and/or Jewish Family & Children’s Services may also provide scholarship opportunities but may implement strict deadlines and application procedures – it is your responsibility to apply as soon as possible and make sure all forms have been submitted. Be sure to check your local community. Please call and ask us so we can help.
