Introducing Athletic Director and Multi-Sport Head Coach: Liza Asch!

Liza is currently in her 23rd year of teaching elementary physical education. She has her National Board Certification, has hosted a running club and an archery club at school, and has coached boys and girls volleyball at the middle school level. For the last 6 years, Liza has coached at the girls high school freshman and the boys junior varsity levels. She also officiates middle and high school volleyball matches.

Liza comes with many years of overnight camp experience, having spent the last 13 summers at a camp in New York, and the previous seven in West Virginia. She has planned daily schedules, evening activities and special events in addition to overseeing girls’ sports.

Growing up in Westchester County, NY, Liza was introduced to a lot of sports and fell in love with them all. In high school, she played volleyball, basketball, and softball. Her family went bowling, skating, skiing, swimming and canoeing. She went to both day camp and overnight camp.

Liza got an AA degree from community college and played softball, going to the JR. ColIege World Series. She went to Trenton State College in New Jersey and got her undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education. She has a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Florida International University.

After college, Liza decided to stay in Florida where she has lived for 25 years. She has run sports programs for the county parks and recreation department. As an adult, she continues to be physically active, working out, playing disc golf, softball, bowling and kayaking.

Liza has family living in the Bay Area so she is looking forward to spending some time with them. She is excited to start a new chapter with Maccabi Sports Camp!
